Description

An extremely attractive natural unheated Sri Lanka cushion cut sapphire weighing 3.22 carats. A big spread and table makes it look bigger than it actually is. I would give it a very low LI2 clarity grade and even perhaps a high MI2! The AIGS boys are being kind. I realize that the stone of this nature is hard to find and this is possibly the reason AIGS is a bit lenient. The color is a vivid Type A with a tonal grade that is just right (not too dark or too light). The inclusions are scattered and spotty but all indicating that this one has not been through any heating! I love the stone and is probably one of my favorite on Gemwow! Lately, I have found that fine sapphires are even more harder to fine than a nice ruby! LA/ March 15, 2011 [*] [E] [R] [MV] [ES]
